One Of The Best Films Ever
When im feeling down and out and just cant be absolutely bothered with any thing or any one this film is always a must for me, it just gives me a boost of humor. This film is the most funniest film ever written as each time you watch it some thing different happens in it that you never noticed before and it always will have you laughing.
Actress Madeline Ashton played by Meryl Streep and writer Helen Sharp played by Goldie Hawn are longtime romantic rivals. Helen's life falls apart when glamorous Madeline steals her fiancé, plastic surgeon Ernest Menville Bruce Willis, and marries him. Helen becomes an obese, depressed woman and is arrested and placed in a mental institution, where she is consumed by thoughts of revenge against Madeline. Madeline's career on the stage ends in 1978, and 14 years later she is still struggling with her fading looks and by-gone acting career. Ernest an alcoholic and miserable in his marriage, has been reduced to working as a high-end mortician restoring the looks of celebrities for their funerals. By this time, Helen has been rehabilitated, and is the successful author of "Forever Young". When Madeline and Helen meet again at Helen's book-signing party, Helen appears miraculously rejuvenated, thin, and youthful.
Thus sending Madeline into a rage of jealousy at Helens youthful looks she encounters the aid of Lisle von Rhoman played by Isabella Rosselini, who claims she has discovered the secret of eternal youth. She offers Madeline a magical potion to reverse the process of aging. then starting events that will have you laughing hysterically throughout until the very end.

I'll vote up. Not a bad write up. This movie has always struck me as a modern version of Blithe Spirit.
I haven't seen this movie in years, Callum. Thanks for reminding me of it! I remember seeing it when it first came out and laughing so much I nearly fell off the sofa.

Ian.
BTW, d'you think Meryl will win an Oscar later this month? I do.
Ian.
Me too (even tho it's about you know who!!).
She is, by far, the best actor of her generation and should have been awarded many more Oscars as opposed to nominations. I think you'll probably agree!!
Ian.
Well she won the BAFTA - good or what?
Ian.
He's brilliant and very bright AND a member of the clan! You'll have seen his portrayal of Oscar.
Ian.
So you're a Wodehouse fan? I'm afraid I'm not but my other half thinks he's wonderful.
QI is seriously witty.
This Hub is getting a bit 'off task'!!!!!!!! But it's great fun, n'est ce pas?
Ian.
I'm not on Facebook, Callum. We can blether away on here, can't we? - you're the expert!! - but it'll have to be tomorrow sometime - I need my beauty sleep!

I like this movie and also Bruce Willis, you got to see his acting range I believe in this movie, just think of all the characters he could play, if he didn't get type cast as a die hard cop all the time that is!
I always like the end where Meryl and Goldie fall down the steps and they are in bits! comedy classic!
